We like to explore on the weekends and J’s mom has been telling us to go up to Boerne. So last Saturday, we took a drive out there to go to The Peach Cafe. Settled in an old house on Main Street, walking in to the cafe feels like visiting in to your Grandma’s house. We were welcomed right away and seated in a cozy side room. The server gave us paper menus with instructions to circle what we’d like. She left and promptly returned with these delicious, fresh-from-the-oven cheese muffins.
While we sipped our homemade peach ice tea, we decided what we’d like for lunch. I chose the poblano soup, which was the soup of the day, and the rueben sandwich. J chose the tortilla soup and the chicken pot pie (weird combo, right?) The soup was brought out pretty quickly. We absolutely loved the poblano soup which was a creamy buttery soup with a light poblano kick to it. The tortilla soup was good, but the broth was a bit on the thin and bland side.
The main lunches looked yummy when they were placed in front of us. The reuben sandwich was quite good, but I could only finish half because the yummy cheese muffins and soup were very filling. J was not too impressed with the pot pie (and I can’t really judge pot pie because I don’t like it in general). He thought the filling was a little bland, although it had a good butteriness to it. He also really like the crust of the pot pie, which had rosemary baked in to it.
Overall, we enjoyed our meal. The ambiance and service were stellar, and the food decent… but could use a little more spice! This is another place we plan to take my parents when they visit next month.

Adorable cafe with a cozy ambiance and great service. Simple food with some dishes in need of some more herbs and spices. Reasonable prices. Overall, a lovely lunch!
